A Supported Internship is available to learners 18-24 years old with an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) who wish to gain employment. Students without an EHCP can apply for this course; however, they won't have job coach support.

As part of this course, you will complete a work placement three days a week, supported by a Job Coach. This hands-on experience will help you develop valuable skills and gain practical workplace knowledge. Please note that students are required to complete 432 hours of unpaid work placement.

On the remaining two days each week, you will attend college to improve your English and maths, along with key employability skills such as communication, time management, confidence, and independent living.

Throughout this study programme, you will spend two days a week in college where you will participate in employment related workshops and develop your English and maths skills. We will work with you to seek supported employment opportunities within your local area.

To be eligible for this course you need to be aged between 18 and 24 with a current Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Students without an EHCP can apply for this course; however, they won't have job coach support.

Your assessment and progress will be based on an individually tailored employability RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress & Achievement) programme.

This will focus on individual employability based targets and goals which are linked to outcomes set within your EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and / or your career goals and aspirations.

Upon completion you will have gained fantastic references for future roles, a CV created with support and an understanding of applying for jobs as well as the possibility to lead onto paid employment, voluntary work or an apprenticeship.
