This qualification is designed for the training and development of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) wishing to advance their knowledge and skills in practice nursing to a Mastery level beyond that of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Day One Skills and Competences.
This course will be delivered via blended learning, so students will attend college one day a month, and study online three days a month.
Students will cover - Professional Practice and Legislation, Consulting Skills, Nutrition and Diet, Medical Clinics, Prescribing and Dispensing for the Practice Nurse, Coaching, Mentoring and Support and Practical Practice Nurse Skills.
A written assignment, case study reports, skills portfolio, written examination and practical examination.
On completion, students will be able to progress their careers in veterinary nursing, becoming Head Nurses or specialising in consulting.
